The White House is pushing back against what it calls a “fake narrative” after newly released Oversight Committee documents revealed that Jeffrey Epstein claimed an unnamed victim had “spent many hours” with Donald Trump.

Unnamed woman “spent many hours” with Trump

On Wednesday, November 12, the committee released three emails from Epstein that referenced the president.

One message, sent to Ghislaine Maxwell in April 2011, claimed that “Victim 1” had spent extended time with Trump at Epstein’s home but had “never once been mentioned.”

Maxwell wrote back, “I have been thinking about that.”

Although the emails did not identify the woman, the White House says the alleged victim was Virginia Giuffre.

According to officials, Giuffre had “repeatedly” said before her death that Trump never engaged in any wrongdoing and that he was polite to her during their brief interactions.

White House says Democrats are pushing a “smear”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a statement accusing Democrats of leaking the emails to “create a fake narrative” about the president’s past friendship with Epstein.

“The unnamed victim is the late Virginia Giuffre,” Leavitt said. “She repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and could not have been friendlier to her.”

Leavitt said the story is “a bad faith effort to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments” as the government prepares to fully reopen. Trump has long maintained that he was unaware of Epstein’s crimes.

Epstein died in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. He had pleaded not guilty.

Giuffre, who died by suicide in Australia in April at age forty one, was one of the most widely known accusers in the Epstein case. She wrote a memoir titled Nobody’s Girl, detailing the abuse she said she suffered as a teenager.

Giuffre also accused Prince Andrew of having sex with her when she was seventeen, an allegation the prince has consistently denied.

Giuffre never accused Donald Trump of misconduct. She previously said that while she saw him at Epstein’s properties, she “never witnessed anything inappropriate.”

The Oversight Committee’s investigation into Epstein and Maxwell is ongoing.
