According to a new book being released this month, President Joe Bidens mental and physical decline was not just obious to everyone, but way worse than we thought – and it started earlier than most seem to think.
Written by journalists
The Book is titlen Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again is written by two senior American political journalists: CNN host Jake Tapper and Axios correspondent Alex Thompson.
Shielded from own staff
According to News Australia, the book reveals how President Bidens aides tried to shield him from his own staff to prevent more people from noticing his decline, which is also said to have started as early as 2023.
Most sources not named
Most of the sources in the book are anonymous, but their job description and relation to Biden is explained. The same aide that revealed the shielding from the staff also explains that they tried to keep the President’s speeches as short as possible.
Considered wheelchair
One of the more shocking revelations is that The White House Docter, Kevin O’Connor, apparently suggested providing the President with a wheelchair due to his declining ability to walk – simply to minimize the risk of him falling.
“He totally f***ed us”
David Plouffe, an Obama adviser, also helping the Harris campaign, is not anonymized in the book, and he thinks the Democrats “got screwed” by Biden, stating “It’s all Biden. He totally f***ed us”, when remembering the first 100 days of the Harris campaign.
Disturbing anecdotes
The book contains a number of anecdotes, including a disturbing one where Biden did not seem to recognize whom he was talking to – even though it was Hollywood mega star George Clooney.
Aides hit back at book
Before the release of the book, however, former Biden aides has come to his defence. In a statement to Axios, an anonymous aide said that of course aging showed physical changes, but that that is not the same as declining mental capacity.
“A very efficient President”
The anonymous aide added that they are still waiting for someone to point out the excact moment they thought the President was unable to do his job, claiming the evidence actually points to the opposite: “He was a very effective president.”
