Google is continuing to expand its ambitions for the Pixel Watch series, this time with the integration of its powerful Gemini assistant.
With this update, the watch is set to become more than just an extension of your phone—it’s evolving into a standalone digital assistant.
Gemini to Replace Google Assistant
Unveiled at Google’s latest developer conference, Gemini is the company’s next-generation voice assistant.
Unlike the current Google Assistant, Gemini is designed to be more intelligent and context-aware.

That means users will soon be able to do much more from their wrist—whether it’s scheduling a meeting, sending a message, or managing reminders—all without needing to pull out their phone.
“With Gemini, the Pixel Watch becomes a more independent tool—not just a remote control for your phone,” Google explained in a press release, as reported by Android Police.
A Smarter, More Independent Watch
One of the biggest changes Gemini brings is a new level of autonomy for the Pixel Watch.
Thanks to its onboard intelligence, users can get quick answers and complete tasks on the go. The feature is expected to be especially useful while working out, traveling, or during busy workdays when fast access to information matters most.
Alongside the watch update, Google is also introducing “Gemini Live” for mobile phones. This new feature integrates the AI assistant into core apps like Google Keep and Google Maps.
With Gemini Live, users can dictate notes, get directions, and perform tasks entirely through voice—no manual tapping or swiping needed.
The Pixel Watch update with Gemini is expected to roll out later this year.
While Google hasn’t announced an exact release date yet, the company has confirmed it will be part of a broader push to bring Gemini across its ecosystem.
