Donald Trump might unleash a massive wave of international disruption. A former White House official claims domestic political defeats will push the president toward highly aggressive foreign policy moves.
Miles previously served as chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security. Writing for the newspaper The i cited by Express, he outlined four terrifying predictions for the near future.
He warned that falling approval ratings could leave the president “distracted, embattled and very likely humiliated” in the coming months.
“If you thought Donald Trump had asserted himself globally this year, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet,” Miles wrote.

The former government official quickly pointed to the messy aftermath of the 2018 midterm elections. When his party lost ground in Congress, the administration reportedly locked down.
He remembered attending “secret meetings” where staff received orders to block government oversight.
Miles explained that officials were instructed to fight back. “We were told to deny information requests, delay inquiries and prepare to defy subpoenas,” he said.
He summarized the hostile attitude perfectly. “If Democrats wanted documents in their corruption probes, they would get the middle finger.”
Four stark warnings
Domestic pressure changed everything during his earlier time in office. “With his hands tied at home, he put his foot down abroad,” Miles wrote.
He bluntly described the president as “a belligerent bully on the world stage.”
Looking ahead, the insider laid out his four specific and chilling forecasts. He expects sudden military displays, noting that “Cuba is already on his radar” and reminding readers that “We’ve not heard the last on Greenland, either.”
He believes a cornered leader might “flex military might for the sheer satisfaction of it.”
Tearing up the playbook
Miles expects the United States to abandon its oldest allies entirely. He also issued a grim warning about Eastern Europe.
“Prepare for him to sacrifice Ukraine’s hard-fought interests to Russia without much of a fight,” he wrote.
Instead of honoring historical treaties, he suggested the president could form “a parallel club that only the faithful are allowed to join.”
Finally, he expects heavy meddling in foreign elections.
“France goes to the polls in April next year for the post-Macron presidential race and Trump won’t just sit back and watch,” Miles warned.
