Another Russian strike hit a hospital, injuring 62 people.

Update: The number of casualties has been updated to 29, and the number of missing people has been added.

Russian forces unleashed guided aerial bombs on a local school used to distribute weekly aid in Komyshuvakha in eastern Ukraine, killing at least 29 people, with 48 people still missing, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

As frightened residents fled into a nearby shelter, a second wave of nine bombs slammed directly into the refuge, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported.

President Zelenskyy called it an “exceptionally horrific strike,” insisting that Russian pilots “could not have been unaware” that local civilians gathered at the school every week for survival supplies.

Rescuers under fire

First responders rushed straight into the burning rubble to dig out survivors. Tragically, emergency workers Denys Konovalenko and Oleksii Sushchevskyi, both 44, died alongside four police officers when subsequent blasts pulverized the site, the emergency service confirmed.

Both seasoned rescuers had earned state honors for over a decade of service in civil protection. Between them, they leave behind two grieving widows and four young children.

Komyshuvakha sits barely 20 kilometers from active fighting. Because Russian glide bombs travel vast distances on pop-out wings, local crews face relentless aerial danger far behind enemy trenches, according to the Zaporizhzhia Investigation Center.

Patients flee Kharkiv

The destruction did not stop in the south. Earlier that morning, a Russian drone damaged a hospital in central Kherson, and the assaults rapidly spread northward overnight.

In Kharkiv, a combined blitz of ballistic missiles and aerial bombs hammered a major medical center, injuring 62 people, Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated.

According to The Kyiv Independent, blasts shattered more than 1,000 windows across the clinic and nearby apartment buildings in the Nemyshlianskyi district.

By dawn, emergency teams had evacuated roughly 200 patients to alternative clinics across the city. There was no rest.
