Ukraine has been fighting for its survival for over three years. The war with Russia has left cities in ruins, forced millions to flee, and caused massive damage to the country’s economy.
Rebuilding will be a long and expensive process. Ukraine needs allies not only for defense but also for economic recovery.
On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a new deal with the United States, according to Digi24.
He called it “truly fair” and said it took weeks of tough negotiations. The deal focuses on two main things: helping rebuild Ukraine and giving the U.S. access to its mineral resources.

The agreement was signed in Washington. It includes the creation of an investment fund.
This fund will be shared between the two countries and used to support Ukraine’s reconstruction.
The money will help repair destroyed infrastructure, support new projects, and boost the local economy.
It also allows the United States to take part in developing Ukraine’s natural resources.
These include minerals that are important for many industries. However, it’s unclear how much of these resources are available.
Many of them are in areas currently under Russian control or near active fighting. Extraction would be difficult or impossible in those places for now.
The deal does not include security guarantees from the U.S. Ukraine had hoped the agreement would include protection against future attacks from Russia.
Zelensky had pushed for that, but it was not part of the final text.
Even so, the Ukrainian government sees the deal as an important step. It opens the door to new investments and strengthens ties with a major ally.
It also shows that the U.S. is interested in Ukraine’s long-term future, not just its current defense needs.
Diplomatic talks with other countries are still ongoing. But for now, this agreement brings some hope.
It’s a signal that rebuilding Ukraine is not just a dream, but something already in motion.
