Russia’s Black Sea Fleet has been based in Crimea for many years, and since 2022 the peninsula has been the target of repeated Ukrainian strikes against the military installations considered to be supporting Russia’s war of aggression.

Attacks Inside Russia as Well
In the early hours of Tuesday, 27 May, Russia’s Aviation Plant No. 325 in Taganrog also came under attack.
The facility, which carries out repairs on Russian military aircraft, has previously been identified as a strategic target for Ukraine.
The strike on Taganrog, together with the night’s events in Crimea, paint a picture of a coordinated effort against Russian military infrastructure. Circumstances remain unclear, and the situation continues to develop.
