The files include testimony, videos and artistic depictions.
Fresh government documents are once again putting unexplained sightings back into the spotlight.
A newly released batch of previously classified records from U.S. agencies contains accounts of strange glowing spheres, unusual aerial activity and eyewitness testimony describing objects unlike anything the witnesses claimed to have seen before. The disclosures mark the latest chapter in Washington’s ongoing effort to make historical UFO-related material available to the public.
Third wave of files made public
The Pentagon on Friday released another collection of documents concerning what officials now refer to as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, or UAPs, says Reuters.
Material comes from multiple agencies, including the FBI, CIA and Department of Defense, and follows two earlier disclosures published in May.
Altogether, the latest release contains dozens of files featuring interviews, illustrations, videos and investigative reports tied to unexplained sightings across the United States.
Several cases appear to focus on similar reports originating from the northeastern part of the country.
Witnesses describe glowing red sphere
Among the most striking accounts is an FBI report based on interviews with two individuals who claimed to have encountered a brilliant red object near their home.
According to the report, one witness “described the red color as being brilliant and beautiful, and that (redacted) had never seen anything that color of red before.”
Investigators documented the object as a sphere roughly three feet wide. Witnesses said it appeared to contain what was described as a white, plasma-like light source in its center.
Reports indicate that a second orb later appeared nearby, with both objects seemingly moving together before disappearing from view.
Weeks later, the same individuals allegedly observed multiple white spheres flying at a much higher altitude over the area.
Similar sightings reported nearby
Another FBI interview conducted during 2025 referenced earlier incidents involving comparable objects.
Investigators noted geographic similarities between multiple reports, writing:
“This observation occurred within 25 miles of the ‘Triangle Orbs,’ ‘Red Orb Rotation,’ and ‘Orbs Over the Pond,’ sightings at a location well known to them, which is sparsely populated.”
Additional records describe an event near a pond during late 2024.
Witnesses reportedly observed a glowing object hovering low on the horizon. Government notes describe the phenomenon as a plasma-like sphere that periodically changed shape and brightness.
At certain moments, observers claimed the object appeared to separate into smaller points of light before reforming.
Long-classified material enters public view
Pentagon officials argue that releasing the files allows the public to examine information that has fueled speculation for decades.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the records had remained hidden behind security classifications for years and that Americans should now be allowed to review them independently.
Although the documents contain unusual accounts, the release does not provide definitive conclusions regarding the origin of the reported objects.
Investigations into many of the incidents remain unresolved, leaving questions about the sightings unanswered even as more government records continue to emerge.
