This exhaustion does not mean voters want to surrender.

When a massive conflict drags on for years, the initial burst of national energy always fades.

Ordinary people eventually hit a breaking point where normal life feels like a distant memory.

Now, deep exhaustion is quietly spreading across a nation that started a brutal war.

Hidden poll numbers

More than sixty percent of Russian citizens recently admitted they feel deeply tired of the ongoing conflict with Ukraine. News outlet Faridaily reported the figures based on closed surveys.

Researchers conducted the secret polling just before the recent United Russia party primaries. The results expose a weary nation.

A sociologist familiar with the survey data noted a massive shift in public expectations.

“The number of people who are ready to accept a non-victorious outcome [of the war] is growing,” the researcher told Faridaily according to Meduza.

Demanding a fix

This exhaustion does not mean voters want to surrender, but citizens simply want an end to the daily grind.

A United Russia insider described the tense mood in recent focus groups.

“In focus groups, voters are openly saying: we need a solution [to the conflict]. We’re waiting for a resolution, for the war to end one way or another. If you can hit harder, hit harder. If you can do something different, do it,” the party source stated.

Frustration at the top

This crushing fatigue extends far beyond regular voters, as the political elite currently feel the exact same burden.

One government official explained the internal frustration to the news outlet. “Everyone is tired of the war. Nothing is happening […] There’s no progress, no progress,” the official said.

The insider clarified that leaders are not feeling defeatist. Instead, they just want Russian President Vladimir Putin to fix the mess.

“People don’t want to give up. It’s more like a demand to the boss [Vladimir Putin]: you’ve always known how to solve problems. Go solve this one,” the official added.

A bleak timeline

Right now, nobody seems to know what comes next. Behind closed doors, another government source freely admitted the extreme confusion.

“No one really understands what the military plan is. And the future is generally unclear,” the source told Faridaily.

The battlefield situation remains locked in a bitter stalemate. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue to launch strikes deep inside Russian territory.

The current conflict has now lasted longer than both World War I and the Great Patriotic War. No peace negotiations are currently taking place.
