Military analysts recently confirmed that these strategic routes are now within constant striking distance. This development marks a significant shift in the ongoing effort to disrupt enemy logistics across the southern region.
Gaining targeting dominance
A specialized drone unit reported gaining targeting dominance over portions of two major highways. These vital roads stretch between occupied Mariupol and the Chonhar region in southern Ukraine. By monitoring these paths, Ukrainian troops can easily strike supply convoys moving toward the peninsula.
Having fire control does not mean that local forces physically occupy the roads themselves. Instead, it indicates a constant ability to target and destroy any military traffic using the corridor. This effectively turns a once-safe supply route into a highly dangerous zone for transport vehicles.
These two highways form a major part of the so-called land corridor to Crimea. The route runs directly through several occupied territories in the southern part of the country. According to United24 Media, this corridor is essential for moving troops, heavy equipment, and ammunition.
Disrupting the southern front
The establishment of fire control coincided with additional successful strikes across the southern front. The national security service recently hit two enemy patrol boats docked in the occupied port of Kerch. As noted by United24 Media, these targeted vessels were located roughly 240 kilometers away from the active frontline.
Military officials also confirmed recent strikes against critical drone communication infrastructure in the region. These attacks successfully damaged two ground antennas used to control incoming attack drones. Destroying these communication hubs severely limits the enemy’s ability to coordinate aerial assaults.
The broader military campaign against the occupied peninsula is placing immense strain on local resources. Recent drone strikes have heavily damaged utility infrastructure and caused widespread power outages. A report from United24 Media highlighted that parts of occupied Feodosia lacked electricity for over a week.
Choking enemy supply lines
Earlier this month, Ukrainian forces successfully targeted major railway bridges near the Chonhar region. These railway connections are heavily used to transport military personnel and heavy combat equipment. Severing these rail links forces the occupying army to rely on the increasingly vulnerable highway system.
Similar operations recently destroyed a storage facility for naval drones on the western side of the peninsula. As detailed by United24 Media, this targeted site was vital for maintaining the enemy’s maritime drone fleet. Losing this maintenance hub further degrades the occupying forces’ operational capabilities in the Black Sea.
Earlier intelligence missions also eliminated several supply trucks traveling along another major highway stretch. By systematically targeting both railways and transport vehicles, the military is successfully choking the enemy’s logistical network. Together, these coordinated strikes make it incredibly difficult for the opposing forces to maintain their southern military presence.
