Accusations are flying across Eastern Europe right now.
On Tuesday, Estonian officials confirmed that the suspicious blaze at a high-tech military manufacturer was no accident.
According to a report by public Estonian broadcaster ERR, local investigators linked the damage directly to covert operations managed from Moscow.
The targeted Tallinn facility belongs to Milrem Robotics. Known for producing unmanned ground vehicles, the firm builds vital tech for modern combat.
Prime Minister Kristen Michal pointed directly at foreign operatives.
“Today, we can say with complete confidence that the arson at Milrem in Estonia on the night of August 15 was an act of sabotage commissioned by Russian intelligence services. The Internal Security Service reached this conclusion after a thorough assessment of the information collected,” Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said, according to ERR.
And now the Kremlin has issued a statement on the accusations.
Lavrov: It is Europe that is waging war
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rejected claims that Moscow is ramping up a secret hybrid war against European nations.
According to Reuters, Lavrov argued that European powers are the real aggressors because they supply heavy weaponry to Ukrainian troops.
He insisted that sending weapons makes European countries active participants in the fight.
“Well, if you admit that your weapons are being used against us and we are shooting these weapons down, you may call it whatever you like. However, I have no doubt that this is a war that Europe is waging against us. We have been talking about this for a long time,” Lavrov said, according to Russian news agency TASS.
A grim warning
Moscow is watching neighboring military moves with intense focus. Lavrov raised eyebrows by bringing up Poland’s recent plans to establish local Patriot air defense missile production.
He pointed straight to Moscow’s official military guidelines as a sharp warning to Western allies. The foreign minister suggested that European governments are playing a dangerous game.
“We have a military doctrine on this matter, which President [of Russia Vladimir Putin] has cited repeatedly. I urge you to study carefully the relevant section of this crucial document,” Lavrov warned.
