The Democratic candidate running for Senate in Michigan held a rally last night. The jokes were flying, and the vice president caught a serious stray.

President Donald Trump and the vice president have been hitting the campaign trail intensely the last three weeks with stops in battleground states that have been historically red.

The situation is dire. However, it has not helped that the president and vice president have been out campaigning — quite the opposite.

The Democratic candidate for Senate in Michigan feels this as well. So last night he debuted a new nickname for the vice president. It was well received.

‘What’s his name?’

Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for the vacant Michigan Senate seat, has turned out to be a great orator at rallies and debates. He is not afraid to go toe-to-toe with Fox News hosts and dish it out during his speeches.

Last night he came up with a brand-new nickname for Vice President JD Vance.

“You know there is always someone that is thirsty for attention. They keep sending that Ohio State Buckeye here. What is his name? JV Dance. They keep sending JV here. […] JV has zero charisma. They taught him that at Ohio State. When your school mascot is like a nut, what do you expect? JV Dance,” El-Sayed said to great cheers from the crowd.

El-Sayed is referring to the school Ohio State that Vance went to. El-Sayed himself is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and the two schools are bitter rivals.

El-Sayed also has words for the president

Abdul El-Sayed was not done attacking the administration. He even had words for President Donald Trump.

Trump has used vicious and downright racist rhetoric towards the candidate who happens to be a practicing Muslim. Trump has said that the Senate should put up metal detectors if El-Sayed gets elected because Trump believes El-Sayed is a criminal. El-Sayed struck back by challenging him on some of his scandals.

“He [Trump] said I should go through a metal detector. But here’s the deal, Donald: I’ll go through a metal detector if you will sit for a lie detector. I got nothing to hide! You got so much to hide! My first question, Epstein. Second question, did you win the 2020 election? So that’s the deal: I will go through a metal detector every day if you sit through a lie detector one time,” El-Sayed said to raucous roars.

New local polls show that Abdul El-Sayed has taken a commanding lead over Republican Mike Rogers with a seven-point advantage.
