Kyiv was rocked by another round of Russian drone and missile strikes early Monday, resulting in multiple civilian casualties and widespread destruction.
The attacks targeted both residential buildings and critical infrastructure, with Ukrainian officials condemning what they called deliberate strikes on populated areas.
Civilian Deaths and Urban Damage
According to HotNews, at least five people were killed and dozens injured.
Four of the deaths occurred in the densely populated Shevchenkivskyi district, where a residential building entrance was completely destroyed. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko stated that people remain trapped under the rubble.

Explosions also damaged six of Kyiv’s ten urban districts, affecting apartment blocks and a key metro station entrance in Sviatoshynskyi district, which doubles as a bomb shelter.
A nearby bus station was also hit. In the surrounding Kyiv region, a 68-year-old woman was killed and eight others injured, according to regional governor Mykola Kalashnyk.
Metro Shelters and Emergency Response
The Ukrainian State Emergency Service released images of rescuers pulling people from burning buildings in the darkness.
Among those rescued was a pregnant woman. The agency confirmed ongoing operations across multiple fire-damaged sites.
“Russian style is unchanged—to strike where civilians might be,” said Kyiv military administrator Timur Tkachenko via Telegram.
Both Russia and Ukraine deny targeting civilians, but thousands have died since the conflict began in February 2022—most of them Ukrainians.
This latest assault follows last week’s massive Russian attack on Kyiv that left 28 dead and over 150 wounded, marking one of the deadliest weeks in the capital since the start of the war.
