The Russian President is mostly known for being a warmongerer, but he is still a human being (supposedly …).

The most evil man in modern history?

There is no doubt that Putin has thrown the world into it’s most unstable state since the Cold War. Putin himself says that the invasion of Ukraine was a preemptive strike of self-defence – a claim pretty much everyone else regards as nonsense.

Still a human

It’s easy to forget, but other than being the most notorious warmongerer of the 21st Century, Vladimir Putin is in fact human (at least we think so …).

And, believe it or not, he does not seem to be all evil through and through.

Get ready for a blown mind

It might be a good idea to grab a helmet or a had of some sort before reading on, as you are at risk of blowing your mind all over the walls.

Have you got it? Great, let’s get to eight non-evil facts about the Russian President!

#1: Raised in poverty

Born on October 7th 1952, he was raised in poverty in Post-WW2 Leningrad.

He was the third son of the family, but his two older brothers had died prior to Vladimir being born.

#2: Not a model student

According to the Russian Presidents own website, he was a “trouble maker” at school, even though he was admitted into a high-level one.

A Russian tabloid reportedly later found Putin’s gradebook. It stated that Putin “threw chalkboard erasers at the children”, “didn’t do his math homework” and “behaved badly during singing class”.

#3: Has practiced judo for decades

Since the age of 11, Putin has practiced Judo, now being a Black Belt of the Eighth Dan – the first Russian to reach that status.

He has also written books about Judo, including “Judo with Vladimir Putin“.

#4: He’s fluent in German and English

While serving for the KGB, Putin was stationed in East Germany, where he learned German.

He is also reported to be fluent in English.

#5: He’s a Beatles-fan

In 2007, British photographer Platon was sent to take a portrait of Putin for Time Magazine’s ‘Person of the Year’ edition.

As a way of making conversation, Platon stated, “I’m a big Beatles fan. Are you?”

He then recounted that Putin stated, “I love the Beatles!” and said that his favourite song was Yesterday.

#6: He’s divorced

Putin got married to Lyudmila Shkrebneva in 1983, but the couple divorced in 2013 after 30 years of marriage.

#7: He’s the father of two – at least

During the marriage, the couple had two daughters, Maria and Katerina.

There are reports of Putin having more, illegitimate, children, but these rumors have never been confirmed.

#8: He’s an animal lover

The Russian President has a number of pet dogs, and allegedly he loves being photographed with animals.

He has also pushed for laws securing better treatment of animals.
