Plastic Pieces Found in Lidl Snack Bars — Urgent Recall Issued

Supermarkets sometimes have to pull products off the shelves to keep customers safe. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it matters.
That’s the case with Lidl right now. The company has issued an urgent recall for several of its fruit and nut bars, according to Daily Mail.
The reason? They may contain pieces of plastic. That means eating them could be dangerous. There’s a real risk of choking.
The recall affects four flavors of the Alesto Raw Fruit & Nut Bars. These are cocoa and orange, blueberry muffin, salted caramel, and berry.

Each pack contains five 35-gram bars. The best-before dates are listed as November or December 2025.
If you’ve bought any of these, don’t eat them. Lidl has asked customers to bring the bars back to any of their stores. You’ll get a full refund, no receipt needed.
Signs about the recall will be posted in all the stores where the product was sold.
Lidl issued a public apology. They said they were sorry for the inconvenience and thanked shoppers for their understanding.
The Food Standards Agency, or FSA, also issued a food alert. This happens when a product is found to be unsafe. In this case, plastic makes the bars dangerous to eat.
There’s no word on how big the plastic pieces are. But even small pieces can cause serious problems if swallowed.
This isn’t the first time food has been pulled from shelves due to foreign objects.
Just last month, Morrisons had to recall a batch of their Cumberland sausages. Those had a different issue but were also labeled as unsafe to eat.
Earlier this year, Heineken had to recall bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale. Glass fragments were found in some bottles. Several people reported the glass broke when they opened them.
Even cereal hasn’t been safe. Back in 2018, one woman said she choked on a piece of glass in an Asda-brand breakfast cereal. She later found more shards in another box.
Food safety is serious. If you have any of the recalled Lidl bars at home, play it safe and return them.
