Quadruple murderer’s latest grievance: the bananas aren’t right.

Bryan Kohberger, a man who admitted to murdering four students, has reportedly become a constant source of irritation inside Idaho’s most secure prison.
According to new reporting, the 31-year-old is lodging petty grievances from behind bars.
Complaints behind bars
Kohberger is being held at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution, where he recently marked his 31st birthday.
Instead of keeping a low profile, he has filed multiple complaints, the Daily Mail reported.
Retired homicide detective Chris McDonough of the Cold Case Foundation told the outlet that one recent grievance stunned staff.

“He’s complaining about the type of bananas he’s being served,” McDonough said, adding that Kohberger “doesn’t like the ones he’s getting,” possibly because they are bruised.
The reaction from prison officials, McDonough said, was blunt: deal with it.
“The guy is a quadruple killer and he’s complaining about his bananas not being the type that he likes,” he added.
Ongoing tensions with inmates
The food grievance is only the latest in a pattern of complaints. Kohberger previously told officials he couldn’t sleep because inmates were yelling through the vents of his cell.
He later claimed he had been threatened with sexual assault by other prisoners.

A security panel ultimately recommended keeping him separated from the general population for his safety and that of staff.
Even so, Kohberger filed additional objections about the size, type, and location of his cell.
McDonough told the Daily Mail he believes the behavior reflects Kohberger’s need for control.
“He was a nobody until he murdered four people,” he said. “Now he’s Bryan Kohberger who has slaughtered four people. He’s going to keep pushing the envelope.”
The murders
Kohberger pleaded guilty earlier this year to four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary, avoiding a potential death sentence through a plea agreement.
