On a Sunday morning near Wiesbaden, a group of ducks decided to cross a busy highway, writes Tag24.
This simple choice led to a major operation involving the police and fire services. It even forced the full closure of the A671 for a short time.
Ignored Officers’ Efforts
At first, police tried to guide the ducks safely across. They hoped the animals would understand and wait for a safe moment to cross. But the ducks had other plans.
They refused to be moved or scared off. The animals just kept waddling across the highway, ignoring the officers’ efforts.
Seeing this, the fire department was called in to help. They knew the situation needed a careful approach to keep everyone safe — both the ducks and the drivers.
Because of this, the A671 was completely shut down in both directions. This stop was brief but necessary.
The police and firefighters worked together patiently. They carefully moved the ducks across the road, making sure none of them got hurt.
It took some time and effort, but eventually, the whole family was safely on the other side.
A Quacking “Thank You”
Witnesses say that at the end of the operation, the ducks quacked loudly. Many took this as a kind of “thank you” to the people who helped them.
