Phil Robertson, best known as the patriarch of the Duck Dynasty family, died on May 25, after a challenging battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

His family shared the news on social media, describing him as their spiritual leader and cornerstone.

Phil’s children and grandchildren paid tribute online, sharing personal stories and messages of faith and strength.

His son Jase Robertson posted on X: “My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! He will be missed but we know he is in good hands.”

Granddaughter Sadie Robertson Huff remembered one of their last conversations: “One of the last things he said to me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Amen! Now he is experiencing it in the fullness.”

Daughter-in-law Korie Robertson added, “Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace.”

Phil’s Health Battles

Phil’s declining health was first revealed publicly in December 2024, when Jase spoke on the Unashamed podcast about his father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and possible complications from a blood disease.

According to Newsner, despite his worsening condition, the family said Phil remained strong in faith and spirit.

From Duck Calls to Reality TV Fame

In 1972, Phil founded Duck Commander, turning a passion for duck hunting into a multi-million-dollar business.

But it wasn’t until the launch of Duck Dynasty in 2012 that he became a national figure.

The A&E series, which ran for 11 seasons, turned the Robertson family into reality TV icons.

Phil was known for his camo gear, long beard, and unfiltered wisdom.

But he also stirred controversy—most notably in a 2013 GQ interview, where his remarks about homosexuality caused public backlash. He was briefly suspended from Duck Dynasty, though fan support quickly brought him back.

Phil’s outspoken Christian beliefs and traditional views divided opinion but earned him a devoted following.

Many admired his unapologetic faith and conservative values, while others criticized his offensive language and hardline opinions.

Still, his influence extended far beyond the TV screen.

The family launched spin-off shows, bestselling books, and even a Christmas album.

Most recently, a new series, Duck Dynasty: The Revival, was set to premiere on June 1, 2025, though it’s now unclear how Phil’s death will affect the show’s debut.
