The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall for a ShopRite store-brand soup mix due to an undeclared allergen.

The affected product is the Bowl & Basket Onion Soup & Dip Mix in 2-ounce cartons, with best-by dates of “SEP 27 25 E07” or “OCT 11 25 E09” and UPC 41190-08394.

This product may contain eggs, a common allergen that isn’t listed on the label.

EatingWell reports that the soup mix was sold in ShopRite locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and potentially other states. The issue was identified after a customer complaint, though no related illnesses have been reported.

People with an egg allergy or sensitivity who consume this product may experience reactions, potentially severe.

Symptoms of an allergic reaction include hives, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and in extreme cases, anaphylaxis—which can cause throat tightness or cardiac arrest. If you experience any of these symptoms after consuming this product, seek emergency assistance immediately.

If you have this item, return it to the store for a refund or dispose of it.
