A social media announcement from the administration promoted the site as the destination for Trump supporters to find “the real news.”
Styled similarly to the Drudge Report, The White House Wire uses bold headlines and a distinctly right-wing tone, a resemblance that appears entirely intentional.
Filling the Drudge-Shaped Void
While Trump once praised Matt Drudge as instrumental to his rise, the relationship has cooled.
As the Drudge Report shifted its tone, Trump’s team saw an opening. The White House Wire is now positioned to take over that space, ensuring consistent alignment with Trump’s message.
