When voters head to the polls, the tension rarely ends after the final ballot drops into the box. Accusations often fly as political camps look for someone to blame for a poor showing. But official watchdogs are now stepping in to set the record straight.

Israel Police are firmly rejecting allegations from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party. The political group made a bold claim. They insisted that Arab factions stole the recent election.

A police source told several Hebrew-language media outlets, according to the Times of Israel, that the voting process was exceptionally clean. Operations went smoothly on the ground from start to finish.

“Election day passed with very few irregular incidents concerning the integrity of the election, even when compared to previous elections,” the source noted in a statement.

These comments directly counter the narrative pushed by the prime minister’s allies. Authorities want the public to trust the final results.

Lacking any proof

The police are not mincing words about the total lack of proof. They made it clear that investigators have found absolutely nothing to back up the serious political accusations.

“It should be emphasized that there is no investigative- or intelligence-based supporting evidence for the claims,” the police source stated, according to The Times of Israel.

Before the police spoke out, another major election oversight body weighed in. A representative from the Central Elections Committee had already thrown out the allegations of voting irregularities.

The official vote count remains ongoing right now. Even so, the initial results show a major shift, with Arab parties securing an impressive 19 seats in the election.

A prepared response

This historic seat count follows an unprecedented voter turnout from the local Arab community. That massive surge in participation completely changed the political math.

Interestingly, this post-election drama might not be a spontaneous reaction. Local reporters had already spotted the warning signs long before the voting began.

Hebrew media outlets reported ahead of election day that Likud had a specific backup plan ready. If Netanyahu failed to secure a clear win, the party intended to challenge the results coming out of Arab areas.

Reports indicate that the political camp drafted their grievances before anyone even cast a ballot. Now, those pre-planned challenges face a tough reality check. Both the police and election officials are firmly speaking out against them.
