The Ukrainian Air Force reported on Monday that Russia launched a major drone attack on Ukraine during the night of Sunday.
A total of 138 Shahed drones and various decoy drones were used in the assault, according to Ukrainska Pravda.
Ukraine Shoots Down 125 Drones
By 8:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down 125 of the drones.
According to the Air Force 84 drones were destroyed by direct fire. An additional 41 were either suppressed by electronic warfare or disappeared from radar.

Despite the high interception rate, 10 drone strikes managed to hit various targets, while debris fell in eight additional locations.
The drones were launched from several Russian locations, including Briansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Shatalovo.
Ukraine’s defense response involved multiple units, including:
- Aircraft
- Anti-aircraft missile systems
- Electronic warfare teams
- Drone units
- Mobile fire groups
These forces worked together to counter the large-scale attack.
