Food Network star Anne Burrell was discovered “unconscious and unresponsive” by her husband, Stuart Claxton, in their Brooklyn home on Tuesday morning, June 17.
According to People, the New York City Fire Department received a 911 call at 7:50 a.m. reporting a suspected cardiac arrest.
Responders arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene. She was 55.
TMZ reports Claxton last saw her around 1 a.m.

Several hours later, he found her collapsed in the bathroom. He called 911 and was instructed to begin CPR, but her body was cold by the time help arrived.
Initial reports indicate Burrell may have suffered a sudden heart failure.
However, the official cause of death is pending confirmation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
In High Spirits the Night Before
Just before her passing, Burrell performed in an improv comedy show at The Second City in Brooklyn.
Attendees said she was upbeat and lively, describing her as “radiant” and “having a blast”.
Tributes poured in from the culinary community. New York Post and Page Six reported emotional statements from close friend and fellow chef Rachael Ray, who described being “truly shaken” by the loss The New York Post.
Burrell is survived by her husband Stuart, stepson Javier, mother Marlene, sister Jane, brother Ben, and nieces and nephew.
