Robin Kaye, known as the music director for American Idol, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were brutally murdered in their home.
The couple, both 70 years old, had just returned from an outing on July 10 when they encountered their killer, according to TV4 Nyheterna.
Los Angeles police report that the suspect, a 22-year-old man, had entered their home while they were away.
Upon their return, he allegedly shot them and fled the scene on foot.

Robin Kaye was a seasoned music producer with decades of experience in the entertainment industry.
In addition to American Idol, she had worked on several major shows including The Singing Bee, Hollywood Game Night, Lip Sync Battle, and both the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
A spokesperson for American Idol confirmed the deaths and expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
“Robin was a beloved colleague and friend. She leaves behind an invaluable imprint on our production and the entire music television industry,” the production said in a statement.

Police have not yet released a motive for the attack.
The suspect is currently in custody and will be questioned further this week.
