The first trailer for Melania, the upcoming documentary about the former First Lady, has been released.

A long-planned project

Melania Trump announced last year that she was developing a feature-length documentary about her life, with a theatrical release now scheduled for 30 January 2026.

Filming began in December 2024 and continued through 2025.

Amazon has described the project, reportedly part of a wider deal worth around $40 million, as a “unique story” that will debut on Prime Video after its cinema run.

Speaking on Fox & Friends earlier this year, Melania said her memoir’s success encouraged her to pursue a film.

She described her life as “incredibly busy” and said the documentary would show “what kind of responsibilities I have” and what people “don’t really know.”

Trailer reveals behind-the-scenes access

The film follows Melania over the 20 days leading up to the 2025 inauguration, promising “unprecedented access” to meetings, private conversations and personal moments.

The trailer shows her travelling on her jet, attending meetings in New York and Florida, and preparing outfits, including a shot of her black-and-white inaugural gown.

It also features scenes with her son Barron and her father, offering a more domestic glimpse than the public usually sees.

A glimpse into a private phone call

One of the trailer’s most striking moments shows Melania in Trump Tower making a phone call to her husband. The exchange appears brief but intimate, hinting at their private dynamic.

“Did you watch it?” Donald Trump replies, sounding upbeat.

“I did not. Yeah, I will see it on the news,” she answers.
