Canadian authorities are advising consumers to check their pantries after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced a recall of Nut Works Raw Whole Pistachios due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The recall affects 150-gram plastic containers of Nut Works pistachios sold in Ontario.

What Are the Risks?

While no illnesses have been reported yet, Salmonella contamination poses serious health risks.

Symptoms of salmonellosis include diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever, headaches, and in severe cases, dehydration or hospitalization.

Vulnerable groups such as young children, seniors, and immunocompromised individuals are at higher risk of complications.

If you’ve consumed the product and experience any symptoms, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
