Ukraine has announced the launch of DOT-Chain Defence, a groundbreaking digital platform designed to streamline the delivery of weapons and military equipment to frontline units.

A Digital Marketplace for the Battlefield

Described as a “digital weapons marketplace,” DOT-Chain Defence allows military units to directly select and order the tools they need.

It aims to reduce red tape and speed up delivery, making military procurement more agile and responsive.

Custom Orders for Combat Needs

Through DOT-Chain, brigades can request specific equipment such as FPV drones, with future options to include electronic warfare systems, robotic platforms, and additional UAVs.

The goal is to ensure each unit gets exactly what it requires for its missions.

Cutting Bureaucracy, Speeding Up Delivery

Defense Minister Rustem Umerov emphasized that the new system will slash delivery times from months to mere weeks.

The Defense Procurement Agency manages financing and logistics, allowing troops to focus on their operational needs.

Transparent and Interactive Logistics

Units can not only place and track orders but also leave feedback and receive prompt updates.

Streamlined Collaboration With Manufacturers

DOT-Chain provides manufacturers with a direct channel to the military and government, giving them real-time feedback from end users and clear insight into evolving frontline needs.

A Pilot Program for Ten Brigades

The pilot phase of DOT-Chain Defence will involve ten brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

These units will serve as the initial testbed for the system’s capabilities and efficiency in real-world conditions.

Supporting Innovation and Industry Growth

The platform helps the state better understand the real-time requirements of troops, make informed decisions, and encourage the growth of Ukraine’s defense tech industry by embracing innovation.

Part of a Broader Modernization Effort

This initiative follows Ukraine’s announcement of a new International Information and Innovation Training Hub for Humanitarian Demining, signaling a wider push to modernize and globalize its defense and security infrastructure.

Backed by a $24.5 Million Investment

The Ministry of Defense has allocated $24.5 million to the Defense Procurement Agency to fund the rollout.
