For supporters of President Donald Trump, the holiday season usually brings a wave of campaign-branded items. This year was no different, but the offers came with a twist that raised eyebrows.
“Exclusive Deals”
Starting on November 24, Trump’s campaign sent out emails promoting what it called exclusive Black Friday deals on a range of merchandise. The messages featured items such as a red MAGA hat Christmas ornament, a 2026 calendar, and wrapping paper printed with a Santa-hat-wearing Trump pumping his fist, writes The Independent. The emails described the president as “extra thankful” for his supporters and encouraged them to act fast and “snag” the offers.
The prices in the emails told a different story. The ornament was advertised for $37. The same item was listed for $30 on Trump’s official merchandise website. The calendar promoted as having a “new low price” of $32 was available on the site for $25. Follow-up emails sent before and after Black Friday repeated the same deals and said they had been extended, without giving an end date.
The White House Has Questioned Trump
Supporters also received an offer for a festive MAGA hat decorated with Christmas lights, advertised for “just $35.” The official site listed it for $28. The White House directed questions about the pricing to the Trump Organization.
These offers arrived during a time when many Americans are tightening their budgets. A recent survey from Nationwide found that 42 percent of U.S. consumers plan to spend less on holiday shopping this year. The cost of groceries, utilities, and rent remains high even as inflation has eased. Trump continues to claim inflation is nearly gone, but households still feel the squeeze. His tariffs also add pressure, especially for lower-income families that spend more on imported goods.

Seasonal merchandise is part of a long-running effort by Trump to profit from his public profile. Over the years he has sold sneakers, watches, guitars, and even Bibles. He recently launched a cryptocurrency called $TRUMP Coin, which is accepted as payment for merchandise. Last year’s holiday push featured luxury items like $150 sequin shirts, $550 clutches, and a $180 pickleball paddle. This year’s lineup follows the same pattern, with plenty of MAGA gear for loyal supporters.
