The relentless assaults have forced the Russians to simply block the supply line.

“An army marches on its stomach,” Napoleon famously said in the early 19th century.

In fact, he saw logistics when moving an army as so crucial that he even offered a reward for the one that came up with a solution to prevent food from being spoiled during long marches.

This directly led to the invention of canned foods.

With the invention of the car, helicopters, airplanes and the increased railroad network, the saying may not be as relevant today, but logistics are still key in order for an army to function.

Ukraine knows this – and they are deliberatly cutting off the Russian forces from vital supplies.

Secret wings fly

Recently, the Ukrainian Nemesis Brigade managed to inflict so much damage to a key Russian supply line, that the Russian forces allegedly completely blocked the vital highway – simply because they feared more attacks.

The 412th Nemesis Brigade announced the block on Telegram on May 26, where they also revealed that the blockade was triggered by a secret weapon.

Military operators successfully tested a brand-new attack drone deep behind enemy lines, proving its worth far from the active battlefield. Dozens of supply trucks and fuel tankers were vaporized.

According to the brigade, the operation relies on entirely new technology. “We are using secret strike ‘wings’ that have not previously been seen in the public domain,” the unit shared on social media.

In the video attached to the statement, footage from an FPV drone shows how several trucks and fuel tankers are being targeted and subsequently destroyed by the Ukrainian aerial assault.

The brigade did not provide any picture of the secret drone.

A critical lifeline

The highway, which occupation authorities call the Novorossiya route, serves as a critical logistics lifeline for Moscow. It connects Mariupol, Melitopol, and Simferopol.

Hoping to escape the aerial traps, heavy transport drivers tried to bypass the main road by slipping onto dirt tracks and narrow field paths. Ukrainian drone teams caught them there anyway.

The military unit worked directly with the manufacturer to design a drone built for this exact hunting style. “Thanks to close collaboration between the 412th Nemesis Brigade and the manufacturer, we have succeeded in creating a system that is perfectly tailored to these specific tasks.”

Middle strike strategy

These pinpoint attacks are part of a broader Ukrainian strategy known as the middle strike campaign. The objective is simple. Operators hit targets sitting between 20 and 200 kilometers behind the front lines.

By hammering this middle zone, Ukraine systematically destroys command posts, air defenses, and ammunition dumps before they can ever support front line troops. Russia seems entirely unable to stop the onslaught.

This vulnerability was exposed on May 8, when the National Guard’s Azov Corps published footage of their Hornet drones flying unmolested directly over the heavily occupied cities of Donetsk and Mariupol.
