Federal regulators have issued a consumer risk warning after more than 250 boxes of coffee pods were recalled across 10 U.S. states.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said the products were mislabeled as decaffeinated but actually contain caffeine.
The recall affects Gimme! Decaf de Agua Coffee Pods, which were voluntarily pulled by New York–based Gimme Coffee, Inc. in late October.
On Dec. 11, the FDA classified the recall as Class II, meaning the product could cause temporary or medically reversible health effects.
Which products are affected
Each recalled box contains 10 coffee pods. While the outer packaging says “Gimme! Decaf de Agua Coffee Pods,” the pods inside are labeled “Gimme! coffee Deep Disco caffeinated coffee pods.”

Consumers can identify the recalled product by the following details:
- Net weight: 4.23 ounces
- UPC: 051497457990
- Best-by dates: Oct. 15, 2025 (outer box) and Sept. 30, 2025 (inner packaging)
A total of 252 boxes were distributed in Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Wisconsin.
What consumers should know
Gimme Coffee said the pods are safe to drink but do contain caffeine, which could pose a risk for people who avoid stimulants for medical or personal reasons.
According to the FDA, a Class II recall means exposure to the product could lead to temporary or medically reversible effects, though the chance of serious harm is considered low.
The agency notes that up to 400 milligrams of caffeine per day is generally safe for most adults, but individual sensitivity varies.
